Cartridge vs Sand Filter Pumps
Cartridge pumps
- Filter water through a replaceable paper cartridge
- Maintenance: clean or replace the cartridge
- Best for small to mid-size pools and simple upkeep
- Models: C330, C530, C1000, C1500, C2500
Sand filter pumps
- Filter water through a tank of sand
- Maintenance: backwash as needed and replace the sand about every 5 years
- Best for larger pools and less frequent maintenance
- Models: SX925, SX1500, SX2100, SX2800
Choosing the Right Pump for Your Pool
- Pool size: Check the pump’s pool-size range against your pool’s water capacity. This is the most important step.
- Pool type: Some listings name compatible pools, such as Easy Set, Frame and Prism Frame sizes, so check the product page.
- Filter type: Choose cartridge for simple upkeep, or sand if you’d like less frequent maintenance on a bigger pool.
- Timer: The C1500, C2500 and all SX models have a built-in timer. Smaller cartridge pumps don’t.
- Power: Check the voltage on the listing and make sure the outlet is protected by an RCD.

Intex Saltwater Chlorinators
A saltwater chlorinator turns ordinary pool salt into chlorine, so you rely less on packaged chemicals. The water feels softer and is gentler on skin and eyes. Every chlorinator connects to your filter pump, which you’ll need to run it
You’ll still need a test kit and some pool chemicals to keep pH in range.
Replacement Filters and Spares
